约翰·曼宁

约翰·曼宁（John Charles Manning，1962-）出生在南非的彼得马里茨堡（Pietermaritzburg）。他是南非国立生物多样性研究所（South African National Biodiversity Institute，SANBI）的植物学家，研究南非植物的分类学。

在2014年，曼宁等人在《植物分类学》（Systematic Botany）发表了《阿福花科芦荟亚科的分子系统发生学和属分类：芦荟棘手的多源性的最终方案》（A Molecular Phylogeny and Generic Classification of Asphodelaceae Subfamily Alooideae: A Final Resolution of the Prickly Issue of Polyphyly in the Alooids?）。他们推导了芦荟族（Aloeae）的种类进化史，并把基于它，把十二卷划分为三属：十二卷（Haworthia）、小型硬叶十二卷（Haworthiopsis）和大型硬叶十二卷（Tulista）。这些属使用了罗利提出的名字，但是种的归类所有区别。
